Delaware County Relaunches and Expands Veteran & Active Military ID Discount Program
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA (August 9th, 2024) – The Delaware County Commerce Center is excited to announce the relaunch and expansion of the Delaware County Veteran & Active Military ID Discount Program. This enhanced initiative now includes active military members alongside veterans, reflecting Delaware County's steadfast commitment to supporting those who serve and have served.
While over 50 businesses participate in the newly renamed Delaware County Veteran & Active Military ID Discount Program, more businesses are encouraged to sign up to promote their business and provide even more benefits and discounts to active military members and veterans.
Either an active military ID or veteran ID card can be used to redeem discounts offered by participating businesses. Veterans residing in Delaware County can obtain their veteran ID card for free through the County Recorder of Deeds office.
A list of businesses, their discounts, and an online application for new businesses to sign up to participate can be found online at www.delcopa.org/veteran-program.
“By expanding the Veteran ID Discount Program to include active-duty service members, we are making this program more inclusive while showing our gratitude,” said Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor. “Delaware County values the contributions of both our veterans and active military members, and this program is a testament to that commitment.”
Colonel Jenkins, the Delaware County Director of Military & Veteran Affairs, echoed these sentiments: “This expansion is a meaningful way to honor and support our military community. It not only offers financial benefits but also strengthens the bond between our service members and the local businesses that appreciate their service.”
Participating in the Veteran & Active Military ID Discount Program offers numerous benefits for local businesses including increased foot traffic, enhanced community engagement, increased sales and repeat business, and promotional support. This promotional support includes a digital toolkit with updated materials for their website and social media, in addition to- new window clings for participating businesses to proudly display in their storefront.

Pinocchio’s, a family-favorite restaurant in Media, has been a proud participant in the Delaware County Veteran & Active Military ID Discount Program since its inception. For over 20 years, Pinocchio’s has shown its commitment to supporting the veteran community by offering a 10% discount off their order.
"We've always felt it is important to honor those who have sacrificed for our nation," says the management at Pinocchio's. "Our veteran customers have been very appreciative of the discount, and it's just one way we can show our support for the brave men and women who serve."
